Fleurette

Fleurette is a French name meaning "little flower". I think that for a top scattered with eyelets, that is quite appropriate. And now I can refer to this knit as something other than "lace top". ;)

For the most I enjoyed this knit a lot. I got bored of the colour towards the end, but other than that, it was good! Though the pattern did have some vague spots, they were nothing I couldn't figure out.
The pattern is very "off the shoulder". After pulling the drawstring a lot tighter it was better, but it tightened the whole shoulder area up, so it wasn't as comfortable to wear. The photos are with the tightened drawstring.

Made for: Me
Needle: size 2 circ
Yarn: Elann Lara, 5.5 skeins (see the brief review below)

Mods: CO 200 (instead of 216) sts, to eliminate most of the positive ease. The yarn is quite heavy so I'm glad I did that. Knit only 3" of rib. I didn't do any increases or decreases for the body, I just cast on 200 sts and started knitting away. That's it I think!

The yarn: I like this yarn and will probably use it again. It has 10 plies (gasp) so it is splity. I used my knit picks needle (very sharp point) and didn't have too many problems, but it is definitely something to consider. This yarn was harder on my hands than wool, but it was still fairly nice to work with. Perhaps the best thing about this yarn is that it is mercerized gassed cotton. I don't know much about what this means other than what information my brief search of the Ravelry forums yielded, but I do know this. No fuzzies. None. Love it.
I can't knit with the standard dishcloth cottons, because they make me sneeze, itch, and turn into a walking fuzzball. But this, this is good stuff. I would definitely recommend this yarn.

And there it is. Fleurette. I like the way it turned out and will probably use this pattern again. I don't know if this will ever become one of my favourite tops, but I do think it was a success.
