Veggie Pizza

I love summer vegetables. Unfortunately, I never was much of a gardener so I usually have to rely on local farmer's markets. I've been able to get a lot of really good veggies this year so a few nights back I made one of my favorite meals, a simple veggie pizza.

I started out with my mom's basic crust recipe and rolled the dough out into my pizza pan.
Then (this is my favourite!) instead of using tomato sauce I brushed the crust with extra-virgin olive oil and added fresh basil and garlic.

Then I chopped up a green pepper and added that over the top. Then I sliced up some tomatoes and a zucchini (all fresh of course) and spread those around too.

Finally I topped it off with some mozzarella cheese and into the oven it went.
And out it came.

Oh yes. That was one good pizza.
I love homemade pizza. Takeout pizza can be fun and I love it, but sometimes nothing beats a good homemade one :)

Looks super yummy :) I might have to get the dough recipe from you. The only home made we've attempted is with dough from Trader Joe's.

That looks really enticing!! I've made a pizza only one time and it didn't turn out great. Reading your post made me feel like trying making one again!
